Brain Stimulation for Depressive Symptoms…

A new research study by researchers at the University of California San Francisco has found patients with moderate to severe depression reported significant improvements in mood when researchers precisely stimulated a brain region, namely, the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC). The direct electrical stimulation of the affected regions of the brain has previously proven to be an effective therapy for treating certain forms of epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.
